It is the right car though,a '76 2+2-I just don't remember a hurst shifter being in any of the interior shots-My first Z was a car just like it-and got a cheep thrill when I saw it in the movie, and really checked it out.

Now I'll have to watch it with my daughter next week if possible. I don't remember the hurst shifter either, I thought it was an automatic? And what happened to the one they crashed at the end ? What could have been the reason for a V8 conversion anyway?

Yeah, that was the first thing that crossed my mind too. I haven't seen the movie in a while, but I seem to remember him crashing into a pole or something with his Z.

Heh, needless to say I felt a bit saddened when he traded up his Z for that McLaren F1 LM. "Whyyyy?!!"

I'm sure they had more than one copy of the same car. Thats what they did in 2 fast 2 furious.

Your saddened by him trading a z for a mclaren? Would you have kept the z over a mclaren? heck, i wouldnt either. We're talkin a Mclaren!!!!!

Well... no... *guilty* :disappoin

... and yeah, I thought for sure it was a McLaren F1 LM... I remember I was playing Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 a lot at the time, and the F1 LM is one of the (many) exotics to choose from. I knew its lines quite well, and spotted it instantly. I'm 98% positive that's what it is.

I also recall a shot favoring the rear end of the car where you could distinctly read the McLaren badging, if only for a split second.

Quoted from: http://www.saleenclub.net/press.php

"Hollywood Horsepower premiered nationally on May 23 with Bruce Almighty, a Universal Pictures starring Jim Carrey as an average Joe who gets his wish when God, played by Morgan Freeman, agrees to change places with Carrey for a week to prove to Jim that being God ain’t all it’s made out to be. Two ladies co-star, Jennifer Aniston and a silver Saleen S7. Jennifer certainly has the softer curves, but the S7 is one fast lady and a real handler. Aniston is a heart breaker; The S7, what else, is the late braker. The Pope may occasionally be driven in a Ferrari, but Bruce Almighty confirms that God drives an S7!"

Found a few other links on the web that said it was a Saleen also. But like I said before, the McLaren would have been a better choice!

If you bought the car on Ebay you'd have everyone calling it "that crappy car Jim Carey drove in that movie". As much as I liked seeing a Z on the big screen, would have liked it if they used a different car :(
