July 6, 200519 yr comment_129738 I have seen people put those on cars that have never left the country. Now that would be one of the dumbest things I've heard of. What would be the point? Maybe a Japan sticker for a Japanese car would be neato but other then that.... :stupid: Maybe it's part of that cars custom look Vicky Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16467-explain-this-vin/?&page=2#findComment-129738 Share on other sites

The vin# on the regisration matches the winshield and engine compartment plate. When I purchased the car I was told that the car was a "70" and that is was titled as a "71" for the following reason: " Import cars were titled or registered as of the date of sale in the United States, not the date of manufacture" I have found this to be true with my Triumph. I would certainly go by the Vin# and any other reference material in determining the correct year. The engine that was replaced had on it twin SU type carbs. The engine is included in this auction although the carbs had been sold years ago. This car is far from original with the engine, transmission, seats, etc. being changed. Any buyer seeking an "original" Z should continue searching other places than this auction. Thanks for your question As to the Triumph vs Porsche issue that is a Porsche 914 but the guy did say he has a Triumph. July 7, 200519 yr comment_129802 That "NL" sticker on the back means the Z has been overseas. The Netherlands (sp) possibly? Vicky I thought it stood for the "National League" (baseball).
