Very strange; where are the air intakes for those jet engines?

Ok, I see now that they're really not jet engines but rather turbine engines that you'd find in a helicopter. A google search indicates that a t58 puts out somewhere between 800 and 1500 HP.

Can anyone say Darwin Award candidate. :stupid:

" I have taken this car to the salt flats twice, the first time it wanted to fly @ 140 mph, but after adding the spoilers and air dam it stayed solid thru 187 mph with a lot more room to go."

Natural selection. More money than sense.

I could think of more, but you probably have already thought of them.

OK, but that still doesn't answer your question about where the intakes are! Still gotta draw air from somewhere. Regarding jet engine design, impulse type jet engines and turbo shaft type jet engines are basically the same, with the exception of the turbine section design. Impulse types make power via blowing stuff out the tail pipe......turbo shaft types make power by turning a turbine wheel with the blow power, turning it into axlial power to drive a gear box, prop rotor blades, or what ever! I'm still looking for some clue to where the intake is too! Good eye for detail Mike.

Mike, upon further inspection for intake air......if you enlarge the photo enough you can see the screen type covers over the intakes (red things at the front of the engines). Just my quess at it! You have to admitt, the guy either has big balls or lacks in brain matter to get out on the salt flats and actually drive...rather ride this machine. Hey, if we didn't have these kind of people around in the world, we would still be riding horses! LOL
