Posted July 13, 200519 yr comment_130480 remember the cargo nets? Looks like fish netting. Was it ever an option on the Z? I remember lots of domestic hatchbacks having them. So I think I might be able to get on on the deck of my car to keep the stuff back there under control., especially since there's not too many place to put stuff with the spare back there. I would probably attach it to/under the chrome strip along the front of the deck and some hooks & velcro straps along the back.where can you get those? The only place I found one was jcwhitney.comthx Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16552-cargo-net-for-rear-deck/ Share on other sites
July 13, 200519 yr comment_130484 What about a 'spider web' style elastic cargo net the guys use to secure stuff in the bed of their trucks? I helped a friend out putting one on his truck just the other day. They have about a dozen plastic hooks around the edge. All you'd have to do is mount a few eye bolts at the back and front of the rear deck. Maybe paint them black so you don't notice them so much. July 13, 200519 yr comment_130501 speaking of luggage straps, who sells carpet kits that DON'T have the cargo strap holes...I don't think I'd mind getting rid of those when I finish getting new carpet. July 13, 200519 yr comment_130532 All S30s, including yours, Tomo, have had the straps....I never use mine, so you're lucky, getting rid of them is already done for you. look under your carpet, there should be 2 screw holes on each side of the spare tire, in front where the 2 straps connected...you might need to seal them for exhaust.... July 13, 200519 yr Author comment_130544 The only stuff I have left are a some standoff/support brackets the deck sits on. there were never any straps, and the only threaded holes are for the bolts holding the brackets.
