The molded plastic ball socket on the throttle linkage near the carb is broken and cracked. Any repair suggestions out there, since the part is no longer available and the Z-s in junkyards are pretty well stripped? Can I encase the existing one in an epoxy to hold it together? Are there rod ends with bearing that people use? Has someone found another vehicle that uses a similar design concept

All suggestions welcome? Thx

Some are available through Victoria British. You might also find one from the guys over at Ztherapy. I guess it depends on which one you need.

As a temp solution you could either epoxy the exterior of the cup or JB weld.

Good luck

You know I just got most of the linkages as replacements. If I know the year. I'll check the p/n and send you my old one which is fine. Otherwise, try calling Z-Therapy and see if he will sell you one. He is not a parts house, but is really helpful. My car is a '73, but I have the 3 screw Z-Therapy round tops on it. So the linkage is probably what you are looking for.

Send me a PM.

YOu should be able to get those ball couplers (metal ones) through a hardware supply chain like McMasters.com Maybe they have plastic ones.

Thx for the info. I realize a lot of gas struts for SUV tail gates etc have this same ball socket type arrangement too. Maybe this will be easier to find than I thought. Now I just need to figure out the ball size?
