July 18, 200519 yr comment_130961 Dave,It's a cool damn car. I love them, and absolutely love my '72. These guys can't be that great of friends. I've got a bunch of friends in the car community and none of them have Z's but none of them ever say anything negative about my Z and in fact let me know whenever they see another one around. It's a sports car not a muscle car or a hot rod. At it's time it was the most competent Japanese vehicle to ever enter the american market, and has had a cult following ever since.NatePrOx,Dude, you're signature is kiling me. Either the car is Turbo'd or it's N/A. It can't be both. Unless for some reason you're not getting any boost. July 18, 200519 yr comment_130963 Yair Nate, You're dead right there mate. (Hey !!!, that rhymes). The members of the "All Classic Motor Club" that I belong to own Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds, Fords, Holdens, Morris Minors, M.G's, 'Vettes etc. and nobody has ever put down my Zed. One bloke is a whiz on S.U's. He helped me out when I was having problems. Another is an engine specialist. He's worked on the motor. Then there's the bloke who knows suspensions so well that he found and fixed the cause of a "Bump In The Night" noise, (as Carl described it), that has plagued me and three mechanics for nearly three years. So, Dave, these blokes you refer to as "FRIENDS" are either not worthy of that term or are secretly so jealous of the beautiful Zed you own that they can't form a comparison with their own beasts. Maybe you need to find some REAL friends mate. July 18, 200519 yr comment_131000 I grew up in the car I have now. My parents were the original owners, they sold it and she was left in a field for 5 years  . I saw it and it made me sick that someone would leave a classic Z like that so I bought her back. I've become so attached that I even dream about driving her . So many memories and so much time and money into bringing her back to life that I think I'll keep her forever. July 18, 200519 yr comment_131042 I'd rather be a person on this forum asking why i should restore my Z than be someone on a Vega or Pinto website asking the same question and you know they're out there. July 18, 200519 yr comment_131065 No other car has as well designed as the dash in a 240Z. They got it right the first time. Outstanding lines and a great interior. Lets not forget the engine and suspension. I could have a Porsche 911 and it would be fun, but not like a Z. If you have one restored, or one that least looks real pretty, you know what I mean. I am on my fourth early 240Z, and there is nothing like it. I am a man of few words, this is my longest reply. Never feel down about restoring any year Z. We have to, it is in our blood. Rick. July 18, 200519 yr comment_131074 This sports car took the world on and won. And not for just a couple of years, but decades. Nissan designed this car to compete and they were more than succesfull. In both roadracing and rally competition, when the Z showed up, the competition frowned. In the U.S. the Z dominated national championships. In the home market, they raced to Nissan glory. All this sports car history is your's, every time you turn the key. That's the #1 reason I love the Nissan's of this era, the Z, the 510, the 1200, the Roadster, was built to take on the world. And that they did, in style. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16588-why-the-z/?&page=3#findComment-131074 Share on other sites
