Posted July 19, 200519 yr comment_131195 I am currently looking for a datsun 240z from the years 71 to 73. I really dont want a fixer-upper or anything that requires any serious work. I was wondering what I would be looking at price wise, and to avoid getting ripped off what sort of commen problems with older z's i should be looking for when buying one.thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16628-help-with-purchasing-a-71-73-240z/ Share on other sites

The early 240s in good shape will be more and few and far between . A completely stock origional '70-'71 with little work needed 10k+ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16628-help-with-purchasing-a-71-73-240z/#findComment-131231 Share on other sites
July 20, 200519 yr comment_131244 This board is a great resource. There is a ton of Z knowledge here. DatsunZGuy as well as several others where very helpful in my 240Z search. You might also check the classifieds here as well. FWIW I paid $11.8 K for my '71 240Z in good cosmetic and very good mechanical condition. This price included a new in the box Nissan dash. The PO had done a lot of the replacements required on a 30+ year old car. He had $4600 in receipts for the parts he installed. This included a new set of tires, 15 X 7 Panasports, Tokico HP shocks & Eibach springs. Good luck in your search.
