I think the wide tires look good if they're tucked up under the back, like the drag cars. On a street car it looks awesome. From the front you look like a regular Joe but from behind you car means business. All that monster tire tucked nice and neat within the lines of the Z. Very intimidating look I think.

Yep, to each his own. I agree with Vicky. If they're tucked in nice it looks awesome. I run 16 x 7 on my car front and rear. Here's a nice picture of it. And the fact that my motor makes more horses than stock overcomes any rollling resistance.

Why would anyone need 8" wide wheels? You know that you are increasing the drag on your Z don't you?

Yea, I know - and added unsprung weight - I was thinking of looks alone. By the Way, I let the deal on those wheels go by. Keep myself under the frivolus spending reins. Plus that, My SSR MkII are just over a year old. How much of a wheel wh0re do I need to be?

For handeling purposes an 8" width is preferable with a 225 tire. I guess for top speed drag could be an issue but when does anyone ever get to do that. Of course the handeling difference between a 7" and 8" wheel is probably not that big of a deal either unless it is on the track.

I am running 225/45/15's on 8" Diamonds on a lowered , but no coil over car , and I had to roll the fender a bit to keep them from rubbing on tight autocross

corners . These are Hooiser DOT tires and they tend to run wide for there advertised size.

are some of you ppl ill?!?!?!? first ,the drag increase will only take place AFTER the vehicle speed reaches 100+ MPH. and a stock Z would not be very stable at that speed anyway (the pilot would be have to be suicidal.) now, on the other hand if mods have been done to the vehicle, greater care should have been taken into consideration, since the fenders can be flared, or replaced with a "widebody" kit. im currently looking at fabbing my own fenders for this very purpose.

The Hoosier tires seem to measure the tread width. I ran 205/50's but the carcas was nearly 9" wide and the tread was 8". The 225's are nearly 9.5" wide which is close to a 245 on a street tire.

Ill? Suicidal? Whilst I may be guilty of both, at least here I'm in good company. This is a site for the love of a sports car, not a mini van. Yes, I often travel at 100+ in my Z. Albeit an antisocial act, it is indicative of true sports car enthusiasm. You may not get much argument in you assumption from my fellows who have had followed me up and down a mountian road. What you may refer to illness, is real joi d'vive to me.
