Are you sure it's flooding??? Maybe it's not getting fuel? Try removing the plugs and check them. Are they wet??? If so then yes, thats a sign of flooding.

Here is a list of things that I can think of that can cause problems on a Fuel Injected Z. Malfunctioning AFM sending wrong signals to the E.C.U., Faulty E.C.U. itself, defective Thermo time switch (located at T Stat housing) which is not detecting coolant temperature properly and is not breaking the ground for Cold Start Valve so Cold Start Valve is activated all the time, faulty Fuel Pressure regulator Should be around 36 psi @ idle. Dirty fuel clogging the fuel system like fuel filter, injectors, lines ect. False air entering the system due to a vac. leak somewhere in the system.

Thats just some stuff that I can think of off the top of my head. Hopefully you got a F.S.M. to help guide you through all the testing procedures. :D Too much for me to type LOL

Best of luck. :)

First thing to check on the efi L6 is the coldstart valve to make sure that it isn't leaking into the manifold causing a rich condition, and the temperature sensor making sure that it works and closes when the engine is warm. I'm not sure if the 83 would have a thermotime switch because at some point in the ZX's, from what I uderstand, that function was put in the ecu.
