Steve Parmley Posted August 9, 2005 Share #14 Posted August 9, 2005 VIR looks like a beautiful track. Is that Grayson Upchurch's old car? He came so close to winning the runoffs in past years, it would be great to see that car finally win.

His team bought the car and has done very well with the old workhorse. I plan to be at the Runoff's to find out if Greg can bring home a National E Production championship. tube80z Posted August 9, 2005 Share #16 Posted August 9, 2005 Here are but a few of the pics I took with my brand new Nikon digital SLR.If you want to capture the action in the photo you can switch your camera to shutter priority mode (Tv). Try playing in the 1/125 to 1/325 range (try to stay above 1/focal length for the shutter speed). This will add some blur to the background the wheels will look like they are spinning. You'll need to pan and practice, practice, practice. It looks like you've got some nice equipment and good subjects.Cary
jmark Posted August 9, 2005 Author Share #17 Posted August 9, 2005 I plan to try more things next race. This was basically the camera in "sports" mode. The shutter was def. too fast to allow me to get the blurred background.

gira Posted August 11, 2005 Share #23 Posted August 11, 2005 Mark,Thanks for getting these cool pics on the website. VIR is a place that all racers, spectators, and crew should visit at least once. Full course is 3.27 miles long with 250 feet of elevation change. I will never forget that race. Oh, I saw a comment on a Production Car forum website from an corner worker who was working at turn 1 during the race. He said the lead car (RX7) got sideways on his own and lost the lead. I sleep well at night.Greg
