Mark,

Thanks for getting these cool pics on the website. VIR is a place that all racers, spectators, and crew should visit at least once. Full course is 3.27 miles long with 250 feet of elevation change. I will never forget that race.

Oh, I saw a comment on a Production Car forum website from an corner worker who was working at turn 1 during the race. He said the lead car (RX7) got sideways on his own and lost the lead. I sleep well at night.

Greg

Update: Greg Ira aka "gira" won the SE Division Championship with this win at VIR. He is off to the Runoffs to run for the EP National Championship. His 240Z is one of three Z cars entered in the 52 car field. I am headed up there and will hopefully get some good pics. Race is late Sept. at Mid Ohio. This promises to be one of the best races of the weekend. Congrats Greg!

Looks like Mr. Ira did pretty good, 14th, at the Runoffs. I didn't see Doug Piner's car, but Don Ahrens was the highest placed Z in, 6th. I always root for my local guy, Ken Kannard, but it looks like he DNF'd early in the race. Anyways I'm looking forward to watching the race....in 2 months on Speed!

What happened to Grayson Upchurch? From the previous posts I understand they sold the car, but he's nowhere in the lineup. Did they just give up? Maybe building a car for next year?

Greg EP 240Z is Graysons old Z. The EP race was a slugfest and a must see on TV. Greg was running as high as 6th and on a restart had to take to the grass to avoid hitting a car. By the time he got back on track he dropped to 14th. Southeast champ and a solid run in his first Runoffs isn't a bad year at all. Don drove a good race and Ken was a victim of the first lap melee. I attached just a few of my EP pics.
