Posted August 19, 200519 yr comment_134830 OK I am asking a group of car folks "where to stick it?" My 70 was a work in progress, part of that was aftermarket water and oil temp and oil pressure guages. The oil temp probe(1/4" x 3" approx.) needs a home. Is there a logical place for the probe? Should I add a plumbing nightmare around the factory oil pressure fitting (mechanical oil pressure and the temp probe) hole? August 19, 200519 yr comment_134832 Hi Mike, My own experience is that it should be in the oil pan. Need a weld in bung fitting to match your temp sender. I've seen them at Jegs and Summit and other speed shops. August 19, 200519 yr Author comment_134844 Looked like the lower portion of the pan was best, sure hate to pull it. Thanks,, Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16963-aftermarket-oil-temp-probe-stick-it-where/#findComment-134844 Share on other sites
August 20, 200519 yr comment_134939 What Chris said ^Best at the back of the sump, less likely to get caught on something. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16963-aftermarket-oil-temp-probe-stick-it-where/#findComment-134939 Share on other sites
August 20, 200519 yr comment_134967 Stock turbo oil pans have the probe in the rear. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16963-aftermarket-oil-temp-probe-stick-it-where/#findComment-134967 Share on other sites
