There´s a lot of discussions about some models of Datsun with different names produced in the whole world, and sometimes i believe i don’t know the car that the people are talking about, but when i see a Picture i realize i know the car with a different name, that’s why I wanted to make a list of the Datsun family here in Colombia and why not? You can help me making a big list of Datsun all around the World…..

Some Australian additions / versions from the 70's that come to my mind include :

P510 Datsun 1600 was the most popular car in Australian rallying in the 70's and early 80's.

P610 180B came out with different motors elsewhere in world but with L18 in both 4 door sedan and SSS Coupe in Australia.

Stanza with 1600cc motor in both a standard and SSS version although from memory the only difference was in the gearbox, rims, and some minor interior and external decoration features.

200B with L20 motor in four door and SSS coupe

240K in both 4 door and coupe versions

The Datsun Violet P710? was also rallied by the Datsun works team in Australia but was not generally available for sale.

The above additions do not include reference to station wagon variants.

those models 1.8 an 2.0 SSS i saw them here in Colombia, they seem to be the Blue Bird version in Colombia....

I would try to make a gallery with the pictures of some models!!!! i´m gonna carry my camera everywhere i go and take pictures of the Datsun that i see, by now take a look of my galleries there is a picture of a 73 Datsun 260C

America usually got the "plebian" models so as not to siphon off sales from their "premium" cars (i.e. the Z). The marketing strategy was to have a "complete" line-up of cars ranging from "cheap economy cars" to "family cars" to "sports cars" and no cross-overs (i.e. sport sedan - Bluebird SSS, Skyline GT, etc) to "cannibalize" sales.

I remember these:

310 - mid 60s (my aunt owned one)

1600/2000 Roadster (Fairlady 2-seater - my cousin had one with dual mikunis)

PL510 68-72 (Bluebird - we had a 69 wagon and a 71 sedan)

610 (bigger successor to the 510)

710 (smaller car to fill the gap between B210 and 610)

1200 (Sunny - I had one as a project car)

B210 (Sunny)

810 (round body - the first luxury Datsun)

810 Maxima (square body - going further upscale)

When they switched to the NISSAN brand in 83, it was became easier to cross-reference.

Here in Japan, there are cars that are simply not exported at all. The auto makers must have at least 50 models and variations there of for sale at any given time and I wonder how they manage to sell them. Take for example the Toyota Crown line. There is the top line Crown Majesta, the Crown Athelete (sports model), the Crown Super Saloon (base model), the Crown Royal Saloon (mid line model), the Crown Comfort (taxi cab line which can be bought in non-taxi configuration). Then, of course, the options . . . . .

Not that anyone is likely to ever see one....but I have a correction for one of the more obscure motors on the list. The 2.5 litre Prince motors G11 6 cylinder used a Four Barrel Hitachi carb. 20 odd years ago I saved an S41 Gloria Grande from being pushed into a landfill. The motor was complete with its four barrel hitachi. It was destined to go into one of my Prince Skylines using a set of triple webers to replace the 4 barrel ....but like nearly all my Prince stuff, all gone now :disappoin

Peculiar thing about the engine number, it was exactly one number prior (earlier) to the first listed in the parts manual
