August 22, 200519 yr comment_135171 Hey Tom, I had the same problem. Weird, seems to be a board error? Anyway, I wanted to see what his other post was, so I clicked "view other posts". Here, it showed the source of the image. edit: ok that's weird, it's not showing up. I'll attach it -- Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16993-vegas-represent/#findComment-135171 Share on other sites

August 24, 200519 yr comment_135463 That car's definitely not here in Japan. No one I know of has that kind of real estate for a garage like that, let alone a driveway. The license plate is a Yamaguchi 55 Y plate, making it pre-1988. Since it is a Skyline Japan (1977-1981) it would be safe to say that the plate was issued sometime after 8/77. The Y denotes a US Military owner, and since they rarely bought new cars, it was probably tagged at the earliest in 1980 after previously being owned by a Japanese. How did the car get to the US? Free shipping courtesy of the US Military. Cars over 25 years old don't need to comply with US safety or emissions standards, making these easy to bring back.Yup, that's how my Hakosuka is getting back to America . . . . July 18, 200618 yr Author comment_175031 i've been MIA for the past year due to other car projects, yet in answering to everyone's question... i'm in las vegas and i purchased the skyline japan back in april of 2004 from an ex-marine in florida. the car was pretty much a p.o.s, so i stared to scratch and currently in the process of completing the project. i've been in search for new oem parts, which i've been fortunate to have friends order me parts from the nissan headquarters. i will soon post a website of the project progress and will keep you all posted. July 19, 200618 yr comment_175084 interesting bacause there were a couple camp pendelton marines here back in the late '80's that had a couple of c210 coupes in the wild bosozuki style. they had japanese plates on them because they couldn't be registered in california. i always wondered what happened to them, and it may just be that one of them ended up in florida and now in nevada (which is good because they still cannot be registered legally in many parts of california without a big hassle and cost). July 19, 200618 yr comment_175085 Wow, bosozoku in America! Don't happen to have any pictures? This car's history could be quite interesting. Ordering new parts for a C210 in America? You must have good contacts, what new stuff did you manage to get your hands on? P.S. Here's two "bosozoku" cars for those playing at home! These are pretty subtle.
