Posted August 26, 200519 yr comment_135887 I have a pan that runs from the radiator to the front of the frame to stop debris and water from coming into the engine comartment. Is there advantages or disadvantages to using this on a 240z? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17054-undercarriage-drip-pan-240z/ Share on other sites
August 26, 200519 yr comment_135899 This rare item was stock on the 240 but discarded quite often. I'm told it is good for helping air flow through the radiator. August 27, 200519 yr comment_135904 You named the advantages in your post plus the one that kurtwwalters mentioned and I can't think of any disadvantages. If you have it on your car, I would keep it. I've never even seen one installed so I suppose a whole bunch of them got discarded. I have one on my '73 and I did notice that it did help some at higher speeds to lessen the light feeling in the front end. I ran with out it for a long time as it was bent up and grungy , the PO had it in a box when I bought the Z . When I cleaned it up and installed it I did feel the difference , not a great difference but it helps. Recently I read that it was found that the air pressure under the front of the car is less when one of these pans is installed. So I guess I waZent dreaming.
