I need to replace or repair the diff on my '72. Current diff is a R180 and think it should be fine to replace with same. Where should I get one? How do I know to get a good one? How much will/should it cost? Is it difficult to replace it myself? If the stub axels need to be replaced should I do this at the same time? For the stub axles is this really a U-Joint issue or do the entire axles need to be replaced?

Thanks for your input.

I bet there is a junk z yard in san jose, Ill find out, and get back to you. If you are planning to be really hard on it, replace it with an r-200, out of a 280z. dont forget to grab the mustache bar from the 280 if you do. the r-180 should be fine. get a hanes manual at napa auto parts, and if you are a novice with out to many tools, it should still only take a few hours. DONT PAY MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED FOR A USED!!!! "All Z" in san diego has a ton of em with 30day warrantys.
