I may check an adjustable wrench, not sure it will fit though...we'll see. In the past I’ve gotten a wrench on, then shoved a screw driver between the flange that the ujoint connects to in order to apply torque to remove the nut. Might help you out. March 28, 20214 yr comment_618741 I have seen rare cases on other vehicles where they are a ?/32nd size. I think it was done to make them smaller for the desired location. I have enough SAE wrenches to come up with something that fits Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17109-driveshaft-removal/?&page=4#findComment-618741 Share on other sites
March 28, 20214 yr comment_618745 Original fasteners are definitely M8 with a 12mm hex size. To get a 12mm wrench on, I had too do quite a bit of cleaning first, but it did go on. A 15/32" wrench would not work, as it is slightly under 12mm, 15/32 = 11.9mm. If I remember correctly, I also had to use a wrench with a thin cross to get in there on the diff side. I've had all the fluids drained from the entire car so not necessary for me this go-round.
