September 1, 200519 yr comment_136558 Rust seems to be a growing topic amoung Z car owners ... Geez Bill, it took you almost TWO YEARS to figure that one out? While you've been pounding on the "Breats and tights" with your Astro-Glide (No, I don't know and DON'T want to know) many of us have been leading the crusade against this scourge of Z's. Pics? Just look at anyone's gallery that's been working on their car...... Now if you're intending one of those "My story is worse than your story...." type of thread, well that's different. September 1, 200519 yr comment_136563 Ebay!Just keep checking the classic, fresh restorations some people post!!!Seriously, The shell I just cut up would probably be in the running, as would #27,but I think I'll take some pictures next time I am up at the farm-I have a car that must have floated from Hawaii(Hawaiin plates anyway)-if it weren't for suspension remnants, you would not know it had a floor at one time. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17110-who-has-the-most-rusty-z/#findComment-136563 Share on other sites

September 1, 200519 yr comment_136584 Check out Art Singer's potential "Project 240Z" on page 70 of the new Fall 2005 issue of Sport Z Magazine. It's, let's just say, a tad rusty. Calling it an oxidation fest would be a considerable understatement.Dave BexfieldEditor, Sport Z Magazinewww.sportzmagazine.com Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17110-who-has-the-most-rusty-z/#findComment-136584 Share on other sites
September 1, 200519 yr comment_136616 My parts car would give anyone a run for there money, no outer rockers on either side, no inner on the drivers side, no floors, no fire wall, the fenders, no wheel wells, no frame rails, doors are crap, hatch crap, pretty much anything. I would like to stangle the guy I bought it from. You will think I'm kidding but i swear it when i got it home, i literally took a grinder on the rear fenders and there was about 1 3/4" thick of bondo in some places. I'm pissed just thinking about it. PLEASE PLEASE never do this to your Z's, they need bondo like we need a hole in the head! September 1, 200519 yr Author comment_136657 Yup. You have to put some in when you replace the panels to cover the weld. September 1, 200519 yr comment_136665 I would put "Orange '72" in the running. The passenger side behind the sail window had a hole in it so big I could almost put my fist through it. Sorry to say the cars passenger floor rail seperated and the car had to be towed away. On a happy note, someone bought the car. Last I heared, they had plans to rebuild her. Love for the Zed! Here is a pic of the panel. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17110-who-has-the-most-rusty-z/#findComment-136665 Share on other sites
September 1, 200519 yr comment_136677 thats actually not that bad... its bad when u can fit ur fist in the front tubeing part of the unibody.. Thats suppose to be one of the strongest parts of the car, and now its held together by air, if i tok it off the jack and let the weight go on the unibody the car would bend and touch the ground...
