Yeah, even fiberglass would be a good idea. It would reduce the weight on either end of the car, and you could even make them a little smaller, just to clean up the profile of the car a little bit. I don't know what color would look good though, cause that chrome just looks sweet IMO.

My favorite bumperless 280 was Steve's (Zvoiture), Remember this one?

It's got a "Shark like" quality or a late 50's fighter jet look, to me. Somewhat Aston Martin - ish? Whatever, It looked way aggro, especially when it was climing up your tail pipe!
