245 width tires too narrow for 9.5" rims???

That's crazy....

We stretched 225 50 R15 onto my 9" wide Wats with no problems...

Thank you, my point exactly!!! I guess it was a liability thing or that they didn't know what the hell they were doing. Finding the right person proves them wrong. I plan on driving by once I get the fronts mounted to prove a point.

Hi Joe,

I'm very interested in what your trying to achieve here. I too have been wanting to buy a set of Watababe's 16X9 for my 240z. I would like to avoid cutting the guards much like you.

Can you tell me where you got them and if you don't mind also what they cost?

Cheers

What I am trying to achieve is to have the ultimate old school JDM look without sacrificing ride quality and not hacking the rear quarters up to make my wheel and tire package fit. In Japan, when they run big, wide wheels they stiffen up the rear suspension to eliminate rear squat so that the tires don't rub. I am looking to achieve the same goal, but tighten it up incremental.

This will accommodate my L28ET buildup :) :)

I purchased the wheels from Joji at www.wheelchoice.com for $2300 w/ lug nuts, locks and center caps.
