...glad to join your ranks! I live in Spokane, Washington in case any locals read this post and want to make their proximity known. I've been using the site for awhile, using the search function a bit, and reading some very interesting threads (love the "Z Restoration Program" thread!).

The reason for introducing myself to the board at this time is because, after a lengthy search, I brought a '71 240-Z home last weekend. I'm very pleased with the overall condition of the car, but, as one would expect with a car that is 34 years old, there are some issues I wll need to deal with.

To you, the administrators and participants of this site, thanks for such a great resource. As the new owner of a classic car in need of refreshing, your collective knowledge is invaluable.

Cheers,

Gary S.

Welcome to the site Gary. I feel the same as you when it comes to the wealth of knowledge this club has to offer, and I'm sure you'll get just about all the help you'll need from these good folks here.

I'd suggest you go into your member profile and add your location there. Considering there are hundreds(?) of active members here, and this thread will probably be history in two days, only a handful will see where you're from, and maybe one or two will remember.

Congradulations on the commencement of your journey into Z-land? I've been on this journey for 25 years and have loved every minute of it!

By the way, I have family in Spokane and they love it there.

Hello back at you from Oroville, WA. about 3.5 hours north of you in NCWash. Where'd you find your new Z? Please post some pictures so we can have a look. I went to college at G.U. in Spokane and have a daughter and son-in-law living there. As you've discovered this site can be a great resource. Gary D.

Darrell and bemmerguy714, thanks for the welcome. GunnerRob, I sent the Visa card number and expiration date to you in a Private Message...can't be giving that out to just anybody you know! :paranoid:

Thanks Gary! :)

Now I can go to the grand opening of the local Harbor Freight. They're having a BIG sale! By the way, can I get you anything while I'm there? ROFL

Gary D., I found the car in Wenatchee, WA. It originally lived in the Van Nuys, CA. area (purchased from a dealership called "Le Mans Motors", Inc. in San Bernadino). According to the owner, almost all of it's roadgoing miles were accumulated in the Southern Cali. area. Rust issues, Neil Young's lyrics notwithstanding, are blessedly minimal.

Check out these pics. Look familiar. Yeah I was talking to the Shores about that car. I'm glad to see it went to a good home. This is the second Series I I've seen sold from the Wenatchee area in the last couple of years. Never got to see the orange car in person, but the photos they sent me looked very nice... just couldn't swing the price at this time. Gary D.

Yes, Gary D., the car is one and the same. And yes, it's interesting how one's current financial situation plays into decisions and purchases. I recall Carl Beck's advice, to paraphrase...When it comes to Z's, you can't pay too much for a good one, and you can't pay too little for a bad one.

I wish you had seen the car so we could compare notes. If you come to Spokane, perhaps we can meet?

Gary S.
