dogma420 sorry for the late reply I lost your reply after my thread went off topic. To answer your question I haven't decided: Original 901 silver or Mercedes silver, right now she still has her original paint.

What.... No comments on the intrecasies and labor that went into the build? No asking how I managed the linkage and such? the 61' Jaguar E-type and the 62' Austin Healey (3000 MK.II) ran triples side-drafts on their straight sixs and only dropped back down to 2 when the service guys whined about keeping them tuned.

I think it's pretty neat, correct me if I am wrong but wasn't the E-Type and Healey designed to run 3 SU and the 240Z 2 SU? IMHO I don't see the purpose of 3 SU if I were going to run 3 carbs in synch it would be Mikuni's but that's just me. I am saying this as I am building a nasty 240Z Turbo..

There's so much more but I'm way off subject here, NICE wheels. I might trade up some day and get some of those. I got 225/55R16's all the way around at the present time.

I got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell. I will have a whole herd of cows w/ bells once the turbo motor is in.

240ztt--she is going to be pretty! Go get lojack security for it man--you are going to be targeted on her when she's painted with those wheels....I hope you never have that issue, but man, she is going to be like a model with EEs standing up in a convertible going down the road...a drool car for sure!!!

I find this hard to believe....have you ever tuned SUs? Once you get the hang of it and just try to do it, they have got to be the easiest carbs in the world to sync--I don't buy this excuse--

I think it comes down to vaccum--the pulses just don't work--in a setup that doesn't work, why would you want kudos? The debate has been brough up a lot about triple SUs and it just doesn't work, esp. when duals will work just fine even for race cars...didn't the other cars you mention with triples have quite a bit more liters to the motor? These triples might work on a 3.1 stoker motor that is running 12 to 1 compression or something like that...

Triple sidedrafts for the most part don't rely 100% on vacuum...a mukini/weber setup 'shoots' the fuel more than a SU, right?

It is however, a pretty looking setup.

BECAUSE THEY LOOK PRETTY!! And yes, they are going on a bigger motor.

Like I said before, a 2.8 pushed out to about 3+ liters, big cam, big header and exhaust. As for the techs of the 60's, they could have been a bunch of snot nosed brats for all we know. I was quoting from (Z-car Magazine) I just did'nt think that every one was going to get their panties all twisted over 1 additional S.U.

Wandered over here after 240ztt from another forum....

I don't know about in the U.S., where people don't typically know their value, but in Japan, the caps tend to disappear rather quickly. I won't park my car outside my garage and walk away without taking them off. Now I don't even bother putting them on unless I plan on going to a car event where I stay with the car. Replacements run between 5k and 8k Yen apiece....if you can find them. I have one that's silver vs the rest that are black....I'll probably just have it repainted....

If anyone knows of a good foundry, I'd like to have them cast in aluminum and keep the plastic ones as backups....

240ztt, send me a pic of those rims you're looking for so I know what I'm aiming to.

Spoke to Mike. He has pairs of XR-4's in every size from 15X6 to 15X8. He also has two center caps. Unfortunately, he's using the X8's and X7.5's right now. I haven't seen the condition of the other 3 pairs of rims or the caps. He's looking for a good set of Watanabes. I also spoke to another friend of mine at the hobby shop....he's going up to an old school shop on Tuesday to look around....

I am actually looking for (2) 15x8 SSR Longchamp XR-4 with a set of 4 center caps if you come across any. I already have (2) 15x10 -40 that I may use with road race or drag tires. Let me know what you can do for me?

I think a set of 15x6 would look nice on my 810. The question is XR-4's or Watanabes, what do you think? I am not sure what I can fit up in there....
