The bumpers are split into 5 pieces at the corners are elbows that have been modified to sit that way.

I know because I was going to do the same thing on my 260z.

However I didn't like the look of it so I just took the bumper off altogether.

I wouldn't recommend it myself it kinda looks funny/strange.

Do you know that I never noticed that??? ..nice pick-up!

I'll have a look through my photos and if I can't come up with anything the club meeting is in the next coupla weeks - I can ask around then.

OK, just interested to see some close up pics anyway.

Looks like a similar idea to Pete Paraska's rear bumper treatment which looks good in my opinion. Shortening the main bar is no problem, my interest is how to for the rounded off edges. I have a junk rear bar I can play with.

On my last Z I smoothed the rear but this time around I am a bit wary of any nudges or shopping trolleys hitting the rear.
