Posted September 22, 200519 yr comment_139149 I have been noticing lately that my '73 likes to lean to the passenger rear. If you look at the pictures I have provided you can see that the front drivers side is high. Is it my suspension or could the frame be twisted in some way? Man I hope it is the suspension. I can't loose another Z, There are no more around where I live. Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17366-suspension-qa/ Share on other sites
September 22, 200519 yr comment_139150 Park it on a flat surface. Measure the distance from the top of the spring to the bottom, both sides. If it's off, take it to a shop that can do frame allignements and have them check it. Might just be a sagging spring. September 22, 200519 yr comment_139153 If it is not the springs doo not worry! When I stripped my Z I thought my frame was twisted, I went and talked to a guy at a shop and he told me how to check if it is the frame by measuring from reference points, it turned out the frame was fine, just my small twisted piece was from a previous repair, but it was not the whole car like yours is. Anyways, when I was talking to him I gathered that even if my frame was twisted he would have pulled it for me back into alignment and it would have costed me no more than a few hundred dollars, so do not worry, you will not have to look for a new Z, maybe just fork out some doughO yea, if you want the Z dimensions e-mail me, I have a copy that Ed sent to me prviously when I was in the same situation you are in now. You can use these to check the dimensions to make sure they are right. Good luck, I hope it is just your springs! September 23, 200519 yr comment_139171 Brian, I sent you the frame dimensions and everything about themJudging that you have just been noticing this, unless the car was in an accident you didn't know about, my guess is that it is the springs. Even the unevenness of the car looks a little to wrong for it to be the frame with out you previously notice. Does the car excessivlely bounce on that corner is ytou put all your weight into it?Well if it isn't the springs, I gave you enough information to check if it is the frame or not. Good Luck Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17366-suspension-qa/#findComment-139171 Share on other sites
September 23, 200519 yr Author comment_139172 Thanks again. It is really hard to move that side of the car. And when I drive, I can feel every little bump in the road. Maybe it is the springs. I'm just having a hard week with the car. First the engine and now this.
