Hello everyone,

I know that this is way off topic, but I thought I would post it because I know there is a member here that would appreciate it. I hope that others like it too.

I saw this in the parking lot at my school and I was stunned. It is such a rare and unique automobile. Not many vehicles can look so good with such a patina, but I think that this one looks great. I think it is a mostly original 1965.

Enjoy or ignore,

Ben

p.s. We need an all off topic area, then I wouldn't feel so bad. If it is too off topic, delete the thread.

Thanks for the pics Ben, I think most car enthusiasts wont mind the thread. My Dad used to have a 1951 Willys step side pickup with a 327 V8 conversion. That was a unique vehicle.

It is a 65-66 series II 88" wheelbase. It does appear to be mostly original. The door mirrors (later Defender 90/110) and hinges (series III and up) are not correct but are far more functional. I run these too on my 71 IIA (headlights moved out to the wings). Maybe I'll post a pic or two of my beast. It is powered by Chevy 4.3 Vortec at present. The LS1 coiler chassis is in the garage as I type. I'd go on but this is a Z forum. Thanks for the post!

Way Cool, thanks Ben.

There is a fella back in Charleston, SC that imports and sells Land Rovers and old Minis.

Oh - Here it is

The school my Dad worked at used to have one for some reason (long wheel base one though), and he'd get to drive it around and bring it home every day.

Those Poms were clever. They made the pannels out of aluminiun alloy so they dont rust.

The old Nissan Patrols remind me of the Landrover, from the side at least.

Cheers for that Ben, its a nice looking bus. Remarkably straight and original looking, that said the lack of a giant oil puddle "the self anti rust system" under the car makes me think it might not have its original motor.

Chris

Chris, I am glad you saw this. When I saw the Rover, I thought of yours. You should tell us about your Land Rover.

Thanks Nate for the link. I love the Mini's. He has some really nice ones.

That patrol is cool too. Here are a few pictures of a Defender 90 that I saw on campus the same day. The great part was that it parked right behind my Z. :)

Yeah, the minis are cool he had an orange mini "ute" like a mini but with a pickup bed on it - man it was way awesome!

Good thing you got the Z in the pic with the Defender, added a little class to the photo.

I NEED a PATROL!!! I would give Bens left arm for one. Sorry Ben, you're gonna have to take one for the team on this one LOL

Thanks for the pics Ben - California really does have every kind of car... my uncle is Land Rover crazy! Until recently he had four of them. Now just three. One is very special, I'll see if I can find a pic of it
