Posted September 26, 200519 yr comment_139510 This past weekend I let my friend drive my 260z and he is not the best at manual shift. Now when I let the clutch out it shutters a little bit. Is it my clutch or something else? If its the clutch any ideas what a new upgraded clutch kit cost? September 26, 200519 yr comment_139517 It's possible that the flywheel is warped due to overheating. This causes high spots that grab intermittently as you let the clutch pedal out. My daily driver has this problem and it coincidentally started just after teaching my wife how to drive a manual. October 10, 200519 yr comment_141130 I taught a female to drive standard... After gnawing all my finger nails off, she actually did pretty damn good. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17392-my-260z-is-hurt/#findComment-141130 Share on other sites
October 10, 200519 yr comment_141135 I agree with MikeW sounds like hot spots on the flywheel. It will need machining to fix but I wouldn't worry about it till your clutch is due for replacement unless it's really painfull. October 10, 200519 yr comment_141174 It could just be glazed. My 4runner started doing this a bit after I went wheeling in a boulder field and had to do a lot of clutch slipping to keep from damaging my undercarriage. I only feel the shudder now when it's cold. As it warms up it goes away. My clutch is not clipping and works fine. It more annoynig thatn anything else. Unfortunately, I think the only way to get rid of it is to drop the tranny and sand it off........
