This is why I speed!

Chris,

None of us know what we're talking about here, so go ahead and pursue your need for speed on the street. Or, just suck it up and take our advise! You may thank us in the future.

Of course I will take your advice, Advise could be the most valuable thing on earth! It is most of the time free and can save you the time and pain of finding it out for yourself. I always take peoples advise into consideration. I may or may not speed on public roads, I don't know. That time will not be for many many years when I get done with my car. By then maybe they will have a track close to my area. As far as all of your thoughts, they were all great, everyone has opinions and everyone has the right to state them. I never thought this thread would get so HUGE, but it is nice to know people do care enough to put in their $.02.

THE END

Chris,

So you're a Psych major ???..GREAT MATE, I Always urge young blokes to obtain a university education. My Son is a Psychologist.

Glancing back through this thread I guess I've been one of the most vocal in disagreeing with you regarding speeding on the open public road.

I've never met you and I quite likely never will but I'm one of those soft hearted buggers who actually CARES about young lives being ruined and/or wasted. As a young bloke I lost quite a few of my mates to the grim reaper and in the intervening years had more than just a "few" experiences.

Mate, I'm PLEASED to hear that you have witnessed the carnage first hand. However, it's probably safe to assume that the victims were total strangers to you. If you were the surviving driver and the victims your mates and/or girlfriend, your reaction would be totally different. With your education you would surely know that Post Traumatic Stress Disorder would follow.

Hopefully, by the time your car is on the road, your attitude will have changed as you mature.

This is my last post on this thread. Tomorrow I'm off on a three week holiday.

I've actually enjoyed this thread.

Rick.

I don't really care about long straight roads, I don't drive a muscle car. I mean going fast in a straight line is okay, but there's so much more. The z can handle curves, and that's what it's all about. It generally takes a better driver too.

Exactly why I got my first Z . It was a gift Christmas and college graduation, my parents, my dad ask one last time about a Corvette , put him in both on a winding road, that ended all discussions about why I wanted the Z vs the Vette.

Had that one from Dec 77 to July of 93 , sold it like a idiot, waited till I could find one in good enough condition to make me happy , did so in 2000 and have that one now, the first one was a 78 this one is a 77.

You dont own a Z for straight line driving for sure.

You couldn't just let this thread die, could you?

And exactly what is the problem with someone who had not responded to the topic making a reponse. So I guess to ans your question, No, but then you didnt have to read it did you :(

By the way , nice looking garage interior where you keep your Z.

Thanks for the compliment. I guess you missed the 'tounge-in-cheekness' of my comment which was directed at the thread itself rather than at you.
