Posted September 29, 200519 yr comment_139839 okay. im getting ready to put a full 260z head on my l28. the problem is that the mechanical fuel pump leaks fuel and oil. my question is can i use just the stock electric fuel pump? or do i need anything else.also, do they sell rebuild kits for the mechanical pump? September 29, 200519 yr comment_139845 What are you doing ? If you are going to run carbs, you cannot use a fuel pump that is for injection. Too much pressure . I suppose you could use a pressure relief of some sort but if you just install a pump from a RX-7 Carbed car you will be fine . They put out about 5 psi. September 29, 200519 yr comment_139851 The 260 pump will do fine by it's self. Have you done the numbers ? since the longer stroke of the L-28 , what compression will you be running ?
