Every once in a while. When I'm trying to source and expansion valve for a car that's been out of production for 25+ yrs, or wheel bearings for a truck that's 41 years old, that 'little hot hatch' starts to look good. I even bought one, a Nissan NX1600 (don't know what they're called over there) couldn't stand it! Front wheel drive, whiney little four banger! I think that once you've had a Z you never really get it out of your system.

Well, I have been in Japan for a while and stuck here until the end of the year, up until recently I havent had the time/money/motivation to work on my car due to also putting a deposit on a house. I had a productive stint at the start of the year, coincidently after coming back from Japan, where I got all the suspension and steering done and the motor test fitted.

Good thing about being in Japan (if there is only one) is that I am saving money and quickly building motivation to get stuck into the Z again over the new year. Also there are a range of cheap parts at my fingertips on yahoo auctions but getting people to help me bid on them with their accounts is not easy.

'day all, its starting to warm up considerably in Brissy, love the winters here. Likely that the 260 will be given a run at the QR sprints next Saturday, tweaked the suspension a bit in an effort to get better power down out of the corners. Always fun, keeps me stoked for several days

Basically after about eight years the 260 is finished, bloody ripper car now, so nice to drive in a firm no nonsense sort of way. Looking for a later model Nissan coupe for the next project, big turbo V6

Anyway, enjoy your Zeds, at the very least don't get too pissed off

I'm all enthusiastic about renovating the 240Z again after our succesful Z-day (see pics at www.wazcars.com). Bought a NOS interior tailgate trim on a recent trip to the USA and I just need to get it painted. The next job is to replace the Console and radio (I have replacements in excellent condition) and have the dash re-skinned.

Unfortunately, the console and dash work mean the car will be undrivable for a while...and its coming up to corporate freebie golf season here in Perth..

Hi, I'm still working on my 260z with VQ30det install, money is a bit tight at the moment so in the meantime I am doing a lot of research about the 5stud hub,lsd,cv axles side of things and have an idea to put in an r200VLSD with axles and rear hubs from an r33 skyline , but still using the s30 rear suspension.

I am also looking for the right wheels for the car, and will therefore know what offset I will be aiming for.

My 260z is a project car, my daily driver is a 1993 300zx.

I am glad that spring is here and can't wait for daylight saving.

Well well, this has been a nice roll call. Good to see some familiar and some new faces, or avatars rather.

trs, I'd love to take you up on that Old Pac run but maybe another time when I actually have an engine in the car ay. I used to hoon up and down that stretch pretty much every weekend in the summer of 2002. Some good times and some close calls I had a Skyline R33 at the time. I recall one Sunday I was so heavy on the brakes until I lost the left outside pad. It just clean fell off! I couldn't find the correct pad so late in the day so we ended up buying a $10 set of hose clamps and pinched the brake line. Saved me from sleeping out in the bush about 10km from the north end of the highway.

After not being running for about 4 years my 260 has had a 5spd conversion, and a rebuilt F'injected L28 transplatented into her, and goes strong. Unfortunately right at the moment I have nowhere to park her(nowhere secure anyway), so she is sitting in a garage a long way away and collecting dust again

My 280ZX is currently sitting at my panel beaters house waiting for a new rer quarter panel to be welded in. From there hopefully it wont take me too long to put everything back together. But it probably wont be another month before I get the car back.

Hi again guys.

First things first, I installed my Tokico 5 way adjustables and wow what a difference. The car is so firm I'm not sure what springs I have but if they are the same King Springs as most people have I'd say they are 180 lbs. Although they might be 200 lbs+ I'm really not sure but I do recall some text written on them when I pulled them out that looked like 200 and something.

I'd defaintely recommend , good thing you can adjust them as it's pretty firm almost too firm. I decided I definately needed racing seats to go with the firm suspension and I bought a set of Recaro's that I'm going to try and see if I can install tonight.

The cruise went really well but it was really too dark to get any decent photos of the night unfortunately. We had about 7-8 Zeds show and 20 other cars like 510's and bluebirds and other datto's. :rambo:

rosejointed front end, camber plates and the ride is pretty good on 3,4 and absolutely terrible on 5.

I have the recaros as well, and you feel everything much more than in the stock seats.

Yeah funny you should say that I went up into the Mountains on 5 and at one point i looked at my girlfriend to see how she was going and I could see her bouncing around on her seat. It was one of those had to be there and see it to understand thing. .

I was hoping the Recaro's would help, oh well at least there not sagged like my stockers are. :stupid:
