New DOT legislation regarding DOT racing tires

Hey all,

This made the rounds of the NASA Pro Racing email list this morning (NASA is a grass roots version of the SCCA, to which I have belonged to for some time now). Anyways although not being a Hoosier customer - I prefer Advan/Yokohama's myself the new legislation would be across the board so I do feel it is pretty important.

There is legislation pending that could either make DOT approved racing tires illegal, or just make them so expensive that they will be unaffordable to most or the manufacturers will simply stop making them.
