Arne Posted October 1, 2007 Share #13 Posted October 1, 2007 Thanks Arne... I almost forgot about Datsun Spirit's products. They are little pricey but they are OEM looking. I will see if Les sells the same product. I know he is more a 240 guy but still needs to make some money.I just asked Les about carpeting a couple weeks ago when I ordered my front Spook. He doesn't sell the original loop-style, only cut-pile. His pile carpet is very nice, or so I'm told by a7dz who just got his from Les a few weeks ago.You might also look at Too Intense Restoration.Troy Thacker has been at this for years and I've not heard any complaints about his carpet sets. He lists all of the years as well as Cut or Loop style.http://www.datsunrestore.com/catalog.htmlFWIWEThanks for that, Enriqué, I'd forgotten that Troy sells loop as well. I'll keep him in mind also, he has the advantage (to me) of being on the West Coast.Whats the padding used for. If i add carpeting i wanted to keep the padding out. Or is it needed for something. The jute padding is the factory sound insulation. Probably no need for it if you're using Dyna-mat or something similar. But for street driving you're going to want some sort of sound deadener.
dade280 Posted October 2, 2007 Share #14 Posted October 2, 2007 Cool thanks. Was thinking it had something to do with heat . Ii dont mind hearing the sounds of the road. Not even sure if i even want carpeting.
EScanlon Posted October 2, 2007 Share #15 Posted October 2, 2007 Without the jute, your vinyl won't fit correctly. While this may seem superfluous, down by the accelerator pedal, heater and parking brake, it could be a factor. The jute was right at 1/2" to 3/4" thick, and it cushions the metal as well as sound/heat insulation.2¢E
xray Posted October 2, 2007 Share #16 Posted October 2, 2007 You can also try www.camarosandclassics.comThey have many different applicationsI ordered from them last year. Good pricing at $195.45 delivered and good quality molded to fit the car including the back tray area. Has a dense juite padding. I was very pleased.Checked their website, no pics....Would you mind posting pics of yours for evaluation? What's the jute look like? Are there slots for the luggage straps cut into the rear deck carpet? Thanks,Steve
scotts77z Posted October 2, 2007 Share #17 Posted October 2, 2007 Whats the padding used for. If i add carpeting i wanted to keep the padding out. Or is it needed for something. It makes for a quieter ride. You can remove the padding if you want. Its held on with some type of contact cement. If I remember correctly, they offer both the old loop style carpet and teh new styel in tadays car which is what I ordered. personal preference.
