After Market Seats - Recaro's

Gav,

Nice score on the seats! Certainly tasty items for your Z....however, you forgot to to install your rollbar when the seats were out (sure)! I think these sort of seats in a Z car greatly improve the driving experience and no more sore backs from the old stock seats. Do you have plenty of head room with the adjuster rails installed? As always.....you gotta love a RED Z car!!!!

Yeah I do have a fair bit of head room, not sure with a helmet yet haven't got one :). I used the standard rails which i can make sit lower by removing the plastic spacers on the bottom. I must say as much as I loved the original seats look these are definately far superior in comfort and much more practical. This is possibly one of the best things I've done so far and I'd definately recommend it.

I would like to have a half cage or rear strut bar with some form of ability to attach some harnesses. Definately worth the money I spent and couldn't be happier :)

How did you end up doing the rails?

Hi mate, I used the standard rails and just made a bracket so that the seat could adapt to the standard rails. Originally I was going to modify the rails that came with the seat but it was too much mucking around.

If you looked at Ken's gallery you will see what he did, I did something very similar. I didn't take photos though was in a bit of a hurry to get it done :bunny: .

Hi Gavin: :classic:

Great installation!! They really improve the comfort feeling you have when you get out of the car after having driven 500 or so miles and no back pain.

Did you have much of a problem with the brackets? They appear to be very supportive and comfortable.

Your right on all counts Ken they are terrific and I love the support. It makes the car easier to control and definately make for a less tiring drive. I didn't have too much problem with the brackets but I might redo the passenger side at a later stage since my measurements are a little tight.

I followed your example from the photos but obviously did a few things different. Thanks for all the help :)

Hmmm...I am finding those install photos a little hard to follow, but I have neither the car nor the seats withing the same continent as me, so that may explain it. :surprised

You should have taken some photos and done a guide for your site Gavin :sleepy:

So you drilled additional holes in the car?
