dash board restorations on the CHEAP!!!

It would be nice if they included an example of what was too far gone for them to work on. This phrase "We do however reserve the right to refuse restoration of any unit considered by our company to be unfit for restoration," makes me wonder.

steve,

they completely strip the dash to the frame, re-pad it, re-skin it, and

re-shape it..... the only thing I could think is unresorable would be one cut in half! LOLLOLLOL really though, unless its warped or something, I dont see what the problem could be.....

26TH,

i have seen multiple threads on this issue before...sure....I just wanted to give the people and up-to-date quote on the pricing! all of the other threads say around $700 plus! :devious: just to let 'em know that it is a somewhat-affordable alternative to a new dash....

There are now two companies called Dashboard Restorations-one in the USA, and the original in Australia. They were originally the same company-but have split. I had my dash done by them here in the USA, and the job was good but not as good as I expected. Gary(Beandip) knows the ins and outs of both companies, and the people behind the services. He posted a thread detailing the situation-I believe Chris(26thZ) linked it above.

The AU boss of Dashboard Restorations gave a talk on their business to our club meeting earlier this year. There is an awful lot of hand work and skill in doing a restoration, they did my 260 dash a few years ago, great job. UV proofed too, apparently its UV light which does most of the damage in the first place.

Their 'factory' is the other side of town from where I live :)

I know Jim Kirk personally , to the best of my knowledge the Washington people ahe NO LONGER PART OF THE COMPANY KNOWN AS Dashboard Restorations , witch is located in Queensland Au. The split was caused by customer service and quality from the Washingtom people . Jim Kirk , the owner in Au , made good on the problem dashes when he was informed of the problem by the customers . I have sent Jim Kirk a email asking what is going on , and I will pass on the information. I can vouch for the quality of the dashes coming from the Au Company . What I have seen have been first quality . As for the Washington people I don't know . I havent seen any . I have met Pete & Cheryl Flemming , the Washington Co but I havent seen them for long time . None of these people are my friends , we met and had dinner and I have emailed back and forth with Jim for a long time . Gary :ermm:

This is the latest. '' The Austrailian business wants to make it VARY clear that they are NOT in any way associated with Dashboard Restorations USA ,or the restorations they provide to the U S market '' For leagal reasons I cannot say more what has transpired . Needless to say this is a sad affair. Gary :disappoin
