If you treat it with metal ready that will hold off rust for while, I believe the can says about 3 weeks. I agree with Will, I have treated rust with Oxisolve(eastwood), cleaned excess with acetone, hit it with metal ready and then used self etching primer. I know that is double etching but I don't think that is a bad thing, you guys tell me if wrong. I plan to shoot anti-rust over the aforementioned primer(interior panels)
