Car Covers?

=Enigma=

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend a good car cover for the Z? My Z will be parked outside under my carport and I want to keep it as protected as possible. I live 3 blocks from the ocean in a fairly foggy area. I'd like to keep moisture out and prevent it from getting trapped inside as well. Suggestions, comments?

Sorry guys, I tried searching multiple times but I keep getting the folowing error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted at (null):0 (tried to allocate 1024 bytes) in /home/httpd/vhosts/classiczcars.com/httpdocs/forums/search.php on line 839

The more expensive covers you get a auto stores are the kind that 'breathe' meaning they let moisture OUT, but not in. Like Gore-Tex fabric. I noticed that just covering the car with a cheaer cover traps the moisture, and that's not good, so I won't use that cover any more, except if it's going to rain for 3 days straight (to keep the water from coming in the windows, doors and hatch.

FWIW

google classic car cocoon and check out their ad.they claim cover will hold in moisture and cause rust but then they're trying to sell their product.

I hope you meat to say that it will NOT hold in moisture and it WILL prevent rust. Maybe I'm jus not getting it. :)

the problem with a cover is that the under side of the car is exposed to the elements

Yeah, I thought about that too but there's little I can do about that. Man I wish I could afford to buy a house around here. Not having a garage or a tax write-off is killing me.

My Z will have to sit outdoors at times, and I looked at the Tyvek covers but decided on a traditional Technalon (aka Evolution) cover instead. I ordered a custom fitted cover (early Z with small bumpers, one mirror pocket) from MSA. It should be here today, or perhaps early next week at the latest. I'll post a review after I get it.
