May 26, 200222 yr comment_7735 In my experience, yep- at least a bit of "chirp". No smoky burn-outs in 2nd, unless you're really into abuse:( Gets expensive when you thrash 'em!Seems to me that the Z's are built to drive/handle/be beautiful...if you're into tire chirps between shifts, sure...if you want to lay down serious rubber..Upgrade;) HTH Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/1756-will-a-stock-240-get-rubber-in-second/#findComment-7735 Share on other sites

May 26, 200222 yr Author comment_7752 this toyota dosnt have the tin can bed on it.....this has a pressure treated bed on it and is considerably heavier than the previous scrap....this toyota also has 220,000 miles on it.......so i think second in that is pretty damn good.. August 13, 200222 yr comment_12815 My 72 240z's got some pretty skinny tires on it right now (just got it, haven't had time to change 'em yet) and it lays down some nice rubber into 2nd and a small chip into 3rd on a stock engine (for now). August 29, 200222 yr comment_14346 I know what your talking about when u say your 18 and it matters...to lay down rubber..i am 16 and bought my first car and it being a 240Z i am not "GOOD" at shifting but pretty decent and i wanted to see what it was like when it came to that and i managed to do it..anyways just my two cents...and i also don't drive my car hard...I was just seeing what it could do... August 30, 200222 yr comment_14378 Depends on tire width and road surface, they will chirp in second but why? You aren't going to abuse it are you. Drive in style....... Make everyone envious but respect it. If you want torque, the cheapest way is to put an L28 in it. Although fanatical orginalist will hate me saying that. Go Zed.............
