October 25, 200519 yr comment_142892 It doesn't look like anything that was ever released in the US. If it was, it must have been available in very limited numbers or simply never caught on. October 25, 200519 yr comment_142899 Here's a 1979... Notice that the bed and cab are one... definetly based on a car (el camino-ish). This one is the same body but a different grille. October 25, 200519 yr comment_142911 That's a "Sunny" pickup. They were based on the LB110 (Datsun 1200) platform. Evidentally there were a lot of them in Central America. One of the guys I know that has one says that he brought it up from Venezuela, I believe. The one I've seen is left hand drive. From what I hear, they are still made and sold to this day in Africa.(!) October 25, 200519 yr comment_143059 I love these Sunny pickups, But I DO Not FIT in one. These were sold as Left hand drives in Central and South America. Not in the states. One of my Datsun vendors has a 78 from Guatamala. Very neat LITTLE Truck. Speakin off topic about little Datsun Trucks, I bought this 71 521 last saturday. It's very Getto at the momment, but I'm cleaning her up day by day. October 25, 200519 yr comment_143072 Nope, no Sunny pickups in the US. Not officially anyway. A few have snuck in from Central America as Vic and I said. I owned two 521s in the past. Both were 1970. One was nice, Red, L20B 5speed, etc. and the other was a work truck, Brown, though I also put and L20B in it but left the four speed. October 26, 200519 yr Author comment_143112 Nice! The picture came from my brother down in Ecuador. He said they are "Datsun 1200's". Looks like a cute little truck. I wouldn't mind having one. Check out this one with flames. It's a 1999. And being sold for $6200 U.S. dollars.
