I mearly inserted a cork from the inside. Ace hardware sells rubber or cork in various sizes . Either will work equally well. If you think about it cork has been used for valve cover gaskets for over 50 years . Gary LOL

I just put a piece of tape on mine. I drove with that connection unplugged for years (a previous owner had removed the pump) before realizing that the place where it enters the air box bypasses the air filter. A rubber plug of some sort does seem like a better idea.

I have a weird situation on my 240Z. The air compressor interfers with the part of the air cleaner which hangs down for the air pump. May have to leave it as is or put separate K & N's......I wonder if an early air cleaner w/o the flapper would clear my air compressor.

What air compresser ? What is it used for inflating tommahawks tires ? LOL Pardon me I just looked at the picture and saw he air condition compresser. Looks like some one cut away most of the stock filter box .

aside from hi-jacking the therad. The thread is about the air PUMP . Not a air conditioner pump . No the regular air cleaner will not clear . The down side of the seperate filters is not running the tuned volicity stacks that are mounted on the factory air cleaner . You will loose a little power . Gary

Hey BD, where did you find yellow cork to coordinate with your car? ;)

Do you think the early non flapper air cleaner will clear?

Talked with Steve Epperly from Z Therapy and we are going to swap my flapper air cleaner for a non flapper version. He believes it will work. My car has a 2/71 date.
