Posted October 26, 200519 yr comment_143260 So my heater valve blew this past summer, and I ordered a new one from MSA at the beginning of August. Needless to say, It hasn't been shipped yet. Now it is late october and its getting really cold in the mornings. It is still on backorder and they have no clue when it will be shipped. Until then, what can I do for heat? Can i just bypass the valve with hoses and have it on all the time? I'm pretty pissed about this whole thing. I wish they would have told me it was on backorder when i ordered it, but I didn't find this out until I called about it much later. October 26, 200519 yr comment_143261 Have you called any of the other parts suppliers? Did you check with your local Nissan dealer? E-bay? You can bypass the valve to have it on all the time, you will need a hose that is about 5-6" longer coming from the head. October 26, 200519 yr comment_143262 You can bypass it just add some hose and a hunk of copper pipe to couple them. Do a search here, I think some time in the past somebody posted about using a valve from a Mack truck that was almost an exact replacement and cheaper to boot! October 26, 200519 yr Author comment_143277 alright, good. I tried the search, but didn't find anything about bypassing it. I guess I'll just cancel my order from MSA and try for the one on ebay. October 27, 200519 yr comment_143416 I have seem that you can use a "pull to open" valve from a older ford Bronco. Fits the rubber lines and you can move the vavle outside in the engine compartment so you wont have to worry about the leaks inside. Much, much cheaper as well.. heres a link for getting one for $25.
