Are you talking shotgun sounding backfire, or are you talking about the burbling noise on decel? Burbling noise is totally normal especially with a big exhaust system on a performance tuned engine. Shotgun sounding backfire is usually a result of an exhaust leak that ignites unburnt gas in the exhaust.

It's blurping noises with an occasional POP,

Leave it alone and learn to love that noise. Richening it will make it lessen a bit, but it isn't a problem and your mixture should be set to make the car work when you're accelerating, not decelerating.

Decelerating down through the gears shows these cars character.

Ya gotta love a sports car with a little character. And the occasional "Pop" is the car asking for alittle more attention like- "Hey! Look at me."

Love it!

I paid alot of money to make my car have that sound.

3 to 2 headers, 2.5 inch exaust, turbo muffler, and a major tune up.

I love it when I down shift.

Sometimes on the highway I will speed up a little, (ok maybe alot) so I can let off of the gas pedal and here that sound at high speeds.

Sounds like your car is running well.

Sometimes the valves can get fall from proper adjustment. You may want to check them just in case. You my have a nice gurgle but a loud pop is not what you want. I would start with the valves. Just did mine tonight. How fun it was:)

Ah man thats one of the reasons for driving a sports car, enjoy the sound as well as the looks you get from others wondering whats under the hood. Nothing beats the down shifting sound that a Z can produce when you have a set up to enhance it.
