Is this an add on filter from previous owner? I didn't see it the manual but it looks factory because of the bracket.

your pics are too little to really see what it is, they are not much larger than the thumbnail ones. Where is it on the car?

It' almost directly above moustache bar in front of the fuel tank . I'll try and enlarge pics. Now back to autozone , wrong brake shoes GRRRRRRRRRR.

If that's the 1/4" fuel/vapor line coming from the vapor tank in the back right hand side, (Passenger side) which passes thru the rear right side frame member....Then that should be a one way "check valve"...If you trace it all the way to the engine compartment then it (The line) should end connecting to the vapor cannister.
