December 13, 200519 yr comment_148973 +++Shameless Advertising Plug+++++Buy a Microfiche CD from the club store. You'll not only benefit the club, but you'll also benefit yourself in seeing how some of these items go together.++++Shameless Advertising Plug Ends++++++You'll really need the CD once you start trying to figure out from what cars you can cannibalize parts out of that will be correct for yours.E¢ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17905-proud-new-1970-240z-owner/?&page=3#findComment-148973 Share on other sites

December 14, 200519 yr comment_149008 Congratulations on your new car! I don't mean to be picky but this is a comment that often gets posted by new members and is not correct. This was roughly the 1,399th left hand drive 240Z ever produced (assuming no large gaps between VIN numbers). RHD (no L in the VIN) 240Z's were produced in parallel with the LHD versions. There was most likely an HS3001399 too! And a PS3001399. And an S3001399.Some excellent information resides in this thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13073&page=1The above is my understanding of the situation.. if it's incorrect please correct me!Not to be picky but was there really that many PS30's built? December 15, 200519 yr comment_149121 I live in phoenix and have HLS30-03486. Build date is 4/70 but was not registered until 12/71 so it was titled as a 71. I thought I had a low vin.... December 15, 200519 yr Author comment_149143 Kurt, it is cool having a low vin number but after just having sunk big $$ into engine, with the opportunity to do the same with the exterior and then the interior, it is hard to explain to my understanding wife to not look at the Z as a glorified money pit!! Oh well, the end result will be worth it!! December 15, 200519 yr comment_149145 ...snip...it is hard to explain to my understanding wife ...snip...A Z owner walking along the beach came upon a genie's bottle. Quickly polishing the sand encrusted bottle and just like in the movies....pooof a Genie appeared. The Genie explained that due to budget restraints, instead of the usual 3 wishes, nowdays only ONE wish could be granted, and even then was subject to budgetary considerations. The Z owner pauses and enthusiastically exclaims; "I want a highway to Hawaii, it's the last state I need to drive my Z on to be able to say I've driven her in all 50 States!!!The Genie suffers an apoplectic coughing fit and finally getting his breath back yells at the Z owner; "Are you crazy? Can you imagine the cost of all that concrete in all the pylons?? Forget it, think of something else......"The Z owner says, "Well, I'll settle for understanding the ways of women."The Genie pauses, looks up unto the sky, rubs his chin.....and asks: "This highway, did you want ONE or TWO lanes??"E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17905-proud-new-1970-240z-owner/?&page=3#findComment-149145 Share on other sites

December 16, 200519 yr Author comment_149160 I spent $980 yesterday on repairs at Spanky's and my lovely wife only asked if it was more than the $500 I had predicted then said I didnt have to tell her how much it cost. And guess what - I didnt......I think this means I am pretty lucky. . . . . I just had engine work completed to the tune of almost $5,000 and the body and paint will probably match that amount!! I am not doing anything special but it sure adds up!!! Wish I were more mechanically inclined. I plan on doing some work on the interior ... unless I screw it up and then it goes to a pro!! December 16, 200519 yr comment_149161 I can do anything mechanical or electrical, but to get results that I will be pleased with, I have to pay others to do my body and paint work. Yeah, I'm figuring $5k for that. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/17905-proud-new-1970-240z-owner/?&page=3#findComment-149161 Share on other sites
