haha. i restarted a badd thread, they really need to get a delete thread button. Anyways as for young drivers having nice cars.... its usually their parents buying them nice cars, they sell drugs, or on a rare occasion (like mine for instance) they worked their arse off.

I can atest to that as well Zman. When I was sixteen, I spent my entire summer working 50 hour weeks (5, ten hour days a week) working in a seed warehouse/plant. I worked my tail off that summer. At the close of that summer I bought my Z. Although there are many spoiled kids, whatever they want is just given to them, I see where your coming from on that one bpilati. But for me, buying my Z was not easy, because the money I spent on it, I wasted a whole summer earning it. It makes my z more important to me because it came from my sweat of a horrible summer.

i definantly agree with you on that one man. i cant say i worked 50 hours a week in a seed warehouse but i did work really hard to get my Z. Hell my Z isnt even restored i just have the thing, im only half way there. Everything i own i worked really hard for and it was never just given to me. I appreciate all people like this cuz i know it isnt easy. Im not tryin to start anymore drama on this site but all im sayin is i appreciate peoples work and complement them everytime i get a chance to. When people work hard they deserve whatever they get. I dont care if its a 10 year old kid using a ferrari as a jungle gym, as long as they worked hard to get it, i appreciate it. As for the spoiled yuppies, i have a differnt opinion LOL

I'm 20, have driven the requisite bomb (1989 civic & peugeot 404 [pugsley fun tho])

for the last 2 years (australian license=18) whilst I've been restoring my 71' 240,

I don't see why age should be a factor, if you are willing to work for your car (and not beg mummy and daddy for a new m3) whether you are a twenty y.o. or a 50 y.o. you have the same right. Cars are meant to be driven, and a car totalled by a 50 y.o. is the same as a car totalled by a 20 y.o. (god forbid it happens to my car or anyone elses).

and hey, if you get one at 18-25, you've got longer to enjoy it and appreciate it :-). hehe

Huw

well to stay on topic first i have had mine to just under 120, with just me in it and nobody around on I-5. It was still slowly ganing speed but i was scared of cops (i have a perfect driving record!) and a curve was coming up. Anyways on the age thing, im 17, i just bought my Z, its my 3rd car (80 toyota 4x4, and a 79 ford bronco before). I bought it for a fun gas friendly car because my bronco runs only on premium with octane booster nad gets under 6 MPG. I worked for mine too, everyday after school and anyday i had off of school, 7 days a week. I have payed for all 3 of my own cars, i pay my insurace (ALOT OF MONEY FOR A 17 YEAR OLD MALE), and i pay for all my gas and if i need parts i pay for that too. if i dont my dad says i cant drive, even though he can aford to help me out he wont which is fine, it teaches responsibility.
