Posted May 30, 200222 yr comment_8014 Why is it that all the TCA bushing kits I have seen for sale basically only replace one half of the bushings? The delrin bushing and aluminum cup fit on one side of the TC rod while the other side still retains the OEM rubber bushing. Is that right??? Shouldn't both bushings for each TCA be changed (for a total of 4)?Aftermarket TCAs with spherical bearings on the end of them are more and more appealing everyday.-e Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/1796-tc-rod-aftermarket-bushing-kit-question/ Share on other sites
May 30, 200222 yr comment_8021 All the force on the bushings are rearward and since the aluminium cup and delrin bushing act as the rotation point and terminator for all the force, I'm guessing the use of the rubber on the back side is more for rebound dampening and adjustment.I'm just guessing... May 30, 200222 yr Author comment_8023 my rubber bushings are pretty worked and I certainly am feeling it in the steering when I turn at certain speeds... Should I just replace them with new OEM replacement bushings? May 30, 200222 yr comment_8024 If you are just doing hard street driving I would say the stock replacements would be fine - the amount of flex you get isn't going to make that much of a difference, IMO - but for just $30 it may be worth it to get just that tiny bit of extra steering feel.
