Posted November 13, 200519 yr comment_145806 So I have a '71 turn signal switch hooked to a '73 dash and headlight switch. Besides the fact that my turn signal switch needs some cleaning and checking, people say that '71 and '73 switches differ. I'm wondering if there is a way to use the '71 switch on '73 setup with some kind of conversion. Now, I ordered Wick Humble's How to Restore blah blah blah book. Does the book show you how to restore a t/s switch?Anyone know how to convert a '71 t/s switch to use on a '73 dash? November 14, 200519 yr comment_145807 No, it doesn't show how to restore any switches or anything of that nature. It basically expects that you'll know how to refurb something or that you'll buy/salvage a replacement. The book is very good to have because it gives great direction on how to get to parts of the car and what order to take them apart in, and how to put it back together. November 14, 200519 yr comment_145819 IIRC, it's not the Turn Signal Switch that's the problem, it's the Light/Wiper w/ Int. (73) vs. Light/Wiper only (71).E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18004-turn-signal-conversions/#findComment-145819 Share on other sites
November 14, 200519 yr Author comment_145831 Please elaborate to this Z dumbdumb. My t/s switch isn't working properly anyway. The contacts surely are bad because it works sometimes when I slightly jam it onto one side.
