November 15, 200519 yr comment_145984 I think you need to drain the gas tank first. When you open the fuel pump to get the strainer out, gas will flow. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18020-fuel-strainer/#findComment-145984 Share on other sites
November 15, 200519 yr comment_146003 Nah, just plug the lines that you remove from the f.p. The lines mount low on the tank and not much fuel comes out. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18020-fuel-strainer/#findComment-146003 Share on other sites
November 15, 200519 yr Author comment_146040 I've got the vise grips on the line and will pull the top off the pump tonight but is there anything inside the pump to be concerned about(parts falling out) . P.S read all your other F.I. posts and will go after air regulator, bccd and altitude switch next (high idle) just figured on doing strainer while suspension is out. November 15, 200519 yr comment_146049 No parts will fall out of the fuel pump when you remove it. The altitude switch is only in California cars. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18020-fuel-strainer/#findComment-146049 Share on other sites

March 12, 200618 yr comment_159080 Where do you get the fuel pump strainer? I will switch mine while it's up on the lift. Is there a document describing the process? No help from the FSM.
