The S30 is the Nissan internal chassis designation, David. All the VINs will contain this simple designation along with several other letters which designate the engine type, model type, and side of drive - L for left-hand. There are other letters associated with the VIN that are not stamped on the ID plates but indicate things like country destination and emission standards. Mine are HLS30Us, technically.

That's the brief explanation to get you started. Not a stupid question at all. I didn't know anything about this until a couple of years ago.

2+2 two seats in the front and two seats rear

for more information about the VIN designation there's a lot of threads where you can learn a lot about it.

O and also um... does a 2+2 matter or is it the same?

That's what the "G" in your VIN designates. GHLS30 = 2+2, L28, Left hand drive, S30 model

We like to use the S30 here because this is an international discussion forum. In the states, We only got the 240Z, 260Z and 280Z. There are far more varients out there!
