Posted November 21, 200519 yr comment_146654 before anyone decides to be an arse and flame me i already used the search function and didnt find what i needed.my question is this, i have a 74 datsun 260z early model and i want to replace all the factory gauges with new autometer phantom guages, im doing the speedo,tach,oilpressure,water temp,and fuel level. what size do i need to order to get the right fit???so far ive heard that 2-5/8 inch guages will work for the center of the dash but can anyone verify this?also what size do i need for the speedo and tach???any help would be great as i need to get these ordered soon so i can get my rb engine inthanksdonovanst.louis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18096-gauge-sizes/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
November 21, 200519 yr comment_146680 2 5/8 and 5 inch diameter. This is not a drop in. Search for autometer or gauges and check each post out. There is one out there that tells hows the 2 5/8 gauges were done by gutting the original gauge housings and inserting the autometers. Some folks just wrap tape around the gauge until it is a tight fit while others go to a more elaborate setup. There is no one method...it's up to your skill and imagination.
