Posted December 8, 200519 yr comment_148450 Hi all, I dont have a Canister under the hood of my 1977 280Z..is it ok to put any canister from any car? coz my friend has the same car and has a canister from a GMC Jimmy 1991 I guess..and i read while searching the forum that it should have 3 connections but i'm not sure of them, coz i have a line coming from the tank to the fule filter, then goes to the fule rail above the injectors, and the second line is the return line to the tank i guess, but a pipe sticks in the place where the canister should be, i have no idea from where it comes or where it goes..i read that it improves the fule consumption by 10 Miles per Gallon which is approx. 4Km per Liter! which is quite fair!is there any compaitable canister other than the GMC one or i have to find and original one?:stupid: thanx Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18245-from-where-can-i-get-a-proper-canister/ Share on other sites
December 8, 200519 yr comment_148454 I'm not sure about the GMC carbon canister because I've never tried to put one in a Z. We talked about carbon canisters in this link.http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19679&highlight=Carbon+canister Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18245-from-where-can-i-get-a-proper-canister/#findComment-148454 Share on other sites
December 10, 200519 yr comment_148589 I tried to find this yesterday when you posted. Anyway here it is. It won't help you find one but it does give an overview of the system.http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/carboncan/index.html Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18245-from-where-can-i-get-a-proper-canister/#findComment-148589 Share on other sites
