GatorJ Posted December 15, 2005 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2005 Does anyone either have pictures to post or know of a site where pictures of the various S30 center consoles are posted along with the model years they were utilized? Thank you.
ddezso Posted December 15, 2005 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2005 I've never seen all model years lined up in one place. You can see pictures in VB and MSA catalogs of some years. I just went out and took a pic of my 1970 console. It's not totally finished yet but you can get the idea... Looking at it I just realized I tracked some crap onto my new carpets...better go clean that up!
GatorJ Posted December 15, 2005 Author Share #3 Posted December 15, 2005 Thanks for the picture. Any idea what year this is for?
ddezso Posted December 15, 2005 Share #4 Posted December 15, 2005 I'd be guessing so I'll leave it to an expert.......But I might as well wager a guess - - - 1972 to 1974...Let's see if I was right
montoya_fan01 Posted December 15, 2005 Share #5 Posted December 15, 2005 very late 71, 72, 73, and EARLY 74. Late 260Z & 280Z had a completely different design.

montoya_fan01 Posted December 15, 2005 Share #7 Posted December 15, 2005 Here's two more:Hard to tell exactly, but the one on the blue background looks substantiallly the same as the one in the first pic that you posted (except for the silver accents). seerex Posted December 15, 2005 Share #8 Posted December 15, 2005 The one in the blue pic looks like a series 2 console 72-73 but the other one next to it appears to be a 260 or 280 console
26th-Z Posted December 15, 2005 Share #9 Posted December 15, 2005 My part books only goes up to July '73. Your first picture and the blue picture look like 86700-E8800 from 8/71 on. It has the sliding ash tray. Are either of the consoles notched for a padded arm rest hinge? The part book shows the arm rest. Do the automatic consoles differ from the manual? That might explain the chrome ring. I have one of those also. The last picture is much later and I am guessing fits lighted switches.
Mr Camouflage Posted December 15, 2005 Share #10 Posted December 15, 2005 The chrome rim is just fitted into the console and held in by tabs. My guess is the photo of the one without the chrome rim is an aftermarked repro one, the idea being that you should fit the chrome rim from yours into it.The top pic and the one on the blue backgraound are "series 2" 240z. the other one in the box is 260Z-280Z
ggarrard Posted December 15, 2005 Share #11 Posted December 15, 2005 If it's of any help - the console in the photo with the blue background is the same as in my '72, build date 09/71. There are no fittings for padded armrests. I would concur that the second photo is of a later model (perhaps 280Z ?) because of the radio mounts integrated into the console...(just a guess though)GWGarrard
